Apricot Black Tea Dawn

Apricot Lemon Iced Tea. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Apricot Black Tea Dawn

Apricot nectar adds soft fruit sweetness and a little body to black tea. Lemon keeps the combination from becoming too mellow, while the tea contributes a brisk finish. Brew the tea first and don’t leave it steeping while you mix the fruit; a bitter base can make the apricot hard to appreciate. Stir the nectar in thoroughly, especially if you plan to cool the drink for later.

Ingredients

  • 1 tea bag Black tea
  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 2 oz Apricot nectar
  • 1/2 oz Lemon juice

Make it

  1. Steep the tea in hot water for the time on its packet, then remove the bag.
  2. Let the tea cool. Press or mash any soft fruit and stir in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Pour over ice. Strain if you prefer a smoother drink.

Benefits

Lemon · a little vitamin C

With lemon beside black tea and apricot, this glass offers a little vitamin C for protecting cells from oxidative damage.

Let apricot bring the interest

The black tea and lemon carries a rounded, tangy stone-fruit flavor from apricot; use the listed amounts to enjoy the balance between those flavors, then adjust to your taste.
